Boone is a decorated Search and Rescue (SAR) dog that earned his Canine Good Citizen status in 1999 from the American Kennel Club. He later received several awards for his search and rescue work: the Pennsylvania Lifesaving Award and the American Bloodhound Club’s Mantrailer Excellent Title. Nominated by Sgt. Gregory L. Starner, Newberry Township, PA, Police Department for the American Kennel Club’s ACE award, Boone won a Bronze medal and an Honorable Mention.
